Have you noticed that over the last few years the everyday ‘farewell’ has shifted to,“Stay Safe!” ?
This reflects the ‘fear’ that now pervades our world, a fear we are all prone to when we loose faith in a sovereign God whose nature is to protect and bless us.
The other day a car drove through a road crossing causing Hilary to fall of her bike. Fortunately she sustained no serious injuries.
My spontaneous reaction was to shout in protest after the car which simply drove on. I quickly noted the number thinking somehow to follow up. Realizing that would be fruitless I let it go, only to be awakened that night at 3.52. The number of the offending car had been 352. I went to our Upper Room and the bible ‘fell open’ at Ps. 35:2. ” 1.Contend with my opponents Lord. Fight with those who fight against me. 2.Take up shield and armor; arise and come to my aid.“
Wow!….The Lord had kept Hilary safe!
I deliberately cling to my lifelong ‘farewell’…..
“God Bless”.
I will not comply by mouthing the programmed ‘unbelief’ of the fear mongering puppeteers, in an anxious, “Stay Safe!”
Similarly when running or walking I now deliberately greet folk with “Good Morning’, not just ‘Mornin”.
God is good, and every day he has created is a good one!
This hit me one morning when running in Ireland. I determined the next person I passed I would hit them….. with the full heartfelt greeting!
As I came up alongside a pleasantly plump lady ambling along with her dog, I turned to greet her……. but before I could say a word, she shot out, from behind her beaming smile, in her delightful Belfast accent…
“Mornin’ Luv”
Ha! Outmanourvered by our Good Dad again : – )
The subtle propagandizing of our society to eradicate from our language all trace of the liberating truth as it is found in the ‘good news’ of a loving God’s plan to redeem mankind through the laying down of his life on the cross, is everywhere to be found.
“I have a positive Covid test’ is another phrase that has become common place but is redundant. Kary Mulliis, Nobel prize winner, and inventor of the PCR test asserted it was not a diagnostic test. https://covid-crime.org/kary-mullis/
…………Yet “If you repeat a lie often enough it will be accepted as a fact”
The definition of vaccination, pandemic, natural immunity, ‘a case’, are all terms that have been redefined since I was at medical school, not as far as I can see because of any verifiable scientific advance, but for reasons of political and economical expediency.
Words are important. “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”
When we thoughtlessly repeat these meaningless or duplicitous words and phrases, we are agreeing to ‘live by lies’. We must be scrupulous about the words we choose to use that they align with, ‘The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth……
So help me God?”
Which reminds me…… we must be scruplulous not only about the words we speak…… but the words we fail to speak!
At the end of our taking ‘the oath of allegiance’ last week, Hilary and I were lead by the Spirit as to what we should….. and should not speak.
We had printed copies of the oath so that we could repeat phrase by phrase what the judge had just said.
At the very end, we read the words
“So help me God.”
The judge fell silent.
We did not!
Walking around our local lake yesterday I met an elderly Afro American gentleman, staff in hand, He greeted me happily before I could get a word out.
“You have a blessed day!”
“You too brother!” I grinned back.
I realized if we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places, all that separates us from living in the good of that perpetual blessing…. is how we choose to lip in life!
……for man believes with his heart and so is justified and confesses with his lips and so is saved.” (Rm.10:10)
P.S. Yet again our neighbor John showed up with the confirmation of what I had been thinking about.
“Look” he said “They are even changing the words, “In God we trust” on the coins!” and he pointed out one quarter with the words before the face as if spoken by the mouth, and the other with the words behind as if a back had been turned on them.
So which currency will we choose to traffic in?…..Stay Safe or Keep Faith?
