This morning started well. When I woke, the clock said 5.55 – Grace, Grace, Grace.
I decided to get up and drive down to the spring to replenish our water supply.
I was traveling along the same route I would go during the season when I was doing sandwich delivery with Jimmy John’s. I recalled the pressure of learning to be “Freaky Fast” – at my age!…..but in the midst of that pressure being so aware of His presence.
As I was meditating on the goodness of our Father throughout EVERY day of my life, I said,
“Thank you Dad!” and he replied, “My Pleasure”
Then He said,
“Thank you Paul!” and I replied,“My Pleasure” …. Selah
I wrote a few weeks ago about “The Pleasure of God.”
It is meant to go each and every way.
Prov. 3:5 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not onto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths PLEASANT.”
Ps. 16 says, “The boundary lines have fallen for me in PLEASANT places.” and “You show me the path for my life, in your presence fullness of JOY.”
The song I always sang going to Jimmy John’s was a copy of,
“O what a beautiful morning…..O what beautiful day”
My version continued…..
I’ve got a wonderful feeling
Jesus is with me
Above and beneath me
Before and behind me
He’s all around me
Without and within me.
Jesus is with me
………..today.”
It became my “St.Paul’s Breastplate” : – )
But it’s true, for each and every day of our lives has been carefully planned by him and written in his book (Ps. 139:16).
The older we get the more days we have to look back on and ponder his faithfulness and take pleasure in even the toughest of times, because we are seeing now, how HE was in it ALL, and there was amazing grace as we acknowledged him and we embraced the feast of goodness He was setting before us in each and every day.
This morning I didn’t expect to be typing a blog, but this is what He gave me for breakfast : – ) – and so I say to you,
“Thank You……for giving me this Pleasure.”
…..made even greater by those of you who through email or in person have said to me,
“Thank You for giving me the Pleasure – of your blogs.”
P.S. Greg, my friend in the above photo has also moved on from Jimmy John’s and is now an excellent crisis counsellor for young people. The stress management training at JJ’s obviously served him well too : – )
