Last night we took our eldest grand-daughter Ana to see the Guthrie Theatre performance of Shakespeare’s play “As you Like It” (Ana had played the lead role of Rosalind in her school play.)
I was struck again with The Bard’s genius for word play.
This afternoon I sat down for a moment to…….well just to sit down!
My gaze went to the little plaque pictured above that has sat there largely unnoticed by me for many years. I momentarily pondered the words, transitioning into prayer around this truth about the stability and beauty of God’s word no matter what storms we are experiencing.
(By the way the ‘City’ storm here has gathered momentum again with an email from the Mayor a few days ago telling us they are now not budging on their position to restrict our use of The Big Green House!)
Then it dawned on me that this message had been composed by the little wordsmith Ana….at a much younger age – and then made into a beautiful gift plaque by her Grandpa Larson!
As I connected these events and thoughts I realized again how our Father has set up for us in life external Qs like this was for me, i.e.Cue as in a play, in order to get our attention back to where it is meant to be…… back to the truth He is speaking in our hearts. These repeated Cues go on and on
The classic line in the play, “All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players.” is very true. Our attention as players should continually be drawn back to the true script-u-re
Some of you may not be aware of the Q anon phenomenon.
These are regular posts that are being made by someone (or a group of people) who choose to remain anonymous. The posts relate to another narrative concerning the politics of the USA pointing to “the story behind the story” that we are being told by the mainstream media. The accuracy of how the information plays out in real life over time would seem to validate the source and it’s narrative.
Because the blogger provokes the reader to do their own research into what he asserts is reality I go to a few commentators who seem trustworthy for interpretation. Stephen Jones at Gods Kingdom Ministries is one who I know personally and who examines them in the light of biblical prophecy. The Praying Medic is another.
In “this world’ (ruled by “the prince of the power of the airwaves”) we are lead to believe that it is our ‘right’ to have and express ‘an opinion’ about everything. The TPT rendering of Proverbs 16:2 …describes it well, saying, “We are all in love with our own opinions, convinced they’re correct.”
That is why we must first become sensitive to the Q’s in life’s drama that we receive from ‘the Spirit of truth’ so we know what our personal responsibility is. Then we will know what we should be doing when engaging if at all with Q anon and the flood of ‘news’ information we are being fed by man.
In this season I have chosen again to refrain from watching regular ‘news’ for when I did this last year I found that amazingly – ‘the world’ went on as usual…. despite my lack of engagement…….. and my peace increased!
….for it all really is “Much Ado About Nothing.”
